RedSheep's the Best!

Here's another post about Redsheep's Gujel Tungpalan. Apart from fixing his rate to last year's rate (we booked just when he was increasing his fees). he also waived our OOT fee (Ok na daw since friends naman).

On top of all these Gujel gave us another good deal by giving us an additional discount when we paid in full 9 months in advance!

Nakakhiya na, pero bawal tanggihan ang grasya. Thanks Redsheep, you guys are the best!

One More Off My List!

One of the suggestions our coordinator gave us during our first meeting was to ask our photographer for recommendations on who to get as hair and makeup artist. He said that it would be great if the photographer has worked with the artist. The photographer then knows if the makeup will register well in the camera. Good point -- even if we invested in a good photographer, if my makeup was bad, no Photoshop can help me look nice on our wedding photos.

The first few names of HMUA she gave us though were way to expensive -- by that I meant, 50k fee just for a basic package of bride + 2. That's just crazy. The others had fairly priced packages, but I also had to consider the fee for additional heads. Since our wedding will be in Batangas, no salon is available around the vicinity, so my female entourage would probably have their hair and makeup done by the makeup artist I will be hiring.

During one of the bridal fair, our photographer recommended another HMUA who is a friend of hers. They've worked together for a magazine shoot and I was pretty impressed with her work. After a few exchange of emails, a little bit of tweaking on her rates, I've decided to get her as my hair and makeup artist.

Groom Must Do #1 - Losing Weight

There are two things that Yeng has asked me to do ASAP.

1. Lose weight
2. Get a haircut

I stand a few mils below 5'6" and according to this morning's weigh in, I'm currently at 144.2lbs. Based on healthchecksystems weight/height charts, I'm already nearing overweight territory (I used medium frame 5'5" height).

Overweight. Damn, that's harsh.

When I met Yeng back in 2005, I was probably weighing around 138lbs. I was a regular at the gym then and because my salary limited my choices, I was subsisting on a regular dose of fast food. Not what you would call healthy.

Then I met Yeng and moved to Shell. With a steady dose of dates and an improved salary enough to finance more calories, I ballooned to 154lbs.

At around this time, we scheduled a trip to Palawan where I would need to be half-naked (top half, mind you) in beaches more than 50% off the time. I went back to the gym and tried out the south beach diet. I lost 20lbs and weighed in at a low of 134lbs. Ive borrowed some picture's from Yeng's multiply site and here are two pictures when I was at 154 and when I was 134lbs. Now I look more like the 154lb version, only with longer hair.

153lbs 134lbs

I've lost my way since then and weighed 140lbs two weeks ago. Then the holy week came and I went home to enjoy some good old home cooking and treats like scramble. I weighed myself last Easter, and voila! 147.8lbs! Overweight again!

I just started my gym routine again yesterday and I haven't had rice since Easter. So even if I'm still overweight at 144.2lbs, its actually a big improvment from 147.8. My goal is to be at 135 on our wedding day and with exactly 9 months to go, I think this is very much doable.

Friends Getting Married Soon

I just read from Allan and Socs blog that they made huge changes to their plans. Changing venue and coordinators (full time?) is quite huge considering their wedding is 6 months away. Anyway, if there's a couple who can pull it off, I think it's Allan and Socs. They have this out-of-the-box mentality, which I think makes a late change very possible and doable. Can't wait to attend their wedding!

Another couple friend of our tying the knot this year is Nobs and Tots. They got engaged a few days before us, two (2) to be exact, but they are getting married four (4) months ahead of us. Looking forward to their beach wedding in Bohol.
