Part 2 of 3 of our Singapore Stop Over
Again, we had a very late start to our day. One of my Yeng's travel quirks is to eat at a McDonalds in every country we visit. She has to try out the "unique" offering that each local Mcdo has to offer. From Sg, its the Samurai burger and the Bistro Chicken Sandwich
On the way to Orchard Rd, we couldnt resist buying some chocs for our sweet tooth
We spent the day window shopping along Orchard Rd. Here is one of the trendiest malls along Orchard, ION.
Some watch photos taken that day. GO Navigator Auto. This B-Type dial would make a nice addition to my squadron.
Sinn LE Frankfurt Au Main. This is a beast of a watch.
For dinner we headed off to the Novina area to meet up with my wife's Sg-based friends. They took us to Wee Nam Kee, which to my pleasant surprise was an unassuming sideroad eatery. Very different from the one we have along Ayala Triangle in Makati.
Plastic stools, and a busy noisy clientele. Your definitely just paying for (great) food here. Hmmm-hmmmm. A real value for money.
All the essential condiments in plastic and steel dispensers
The secret to great Hainanese Chicken Rice: Ginger and Chili Sauce (and Soy Sauce)
Steaming Dumpling Soup. Generous amount of dumplings
Hainanese Chicken Rice. Half Steamed/Half Roasted. The best Ive had really.
Cereal Prawns. A little but spicy, I prefer the sweeter and crunchier version of No Signboard Seafood
Chili Crab. Also spicier than No Signboard's version.
Our hosts
After dinner, we headed off to the Marina Bay Sands for a much needed walk to aid digestion and also to grab some coffee and dessert. Here are some pictures I took from the bay.
Some coffee and dessert to cap off the day spent window shopping and eating
After dinner at Wee Nam Kee, we headed back to Clark Quay to try the GX-5 at 2am in the morning! I absolutely hate roller coaster rides, bungees, and anything involving high speeds and change in direction and acceleration but somehow my wife still manages to convince me to try. We were swung at a speed of 120kph from an extremely high point which i never had the guts to actually look into. Here we are after the torturous event. Yeng all happy, and me with glazed eyes.
It was straight to the hotel after that for a well deserved sleep.
to be continued...
